Samantha Hope Herring is a lifelong Democrat with decades of experience in issue-based and electoral campaigns. She has served as Walton County Chair and State Committeewoman since 2013, Vice Chair of the Small County Coalition, and a board member of the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida. In 2020, Samantha made history as the first Democrat elected to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from Florida’s Western Panhandle (FL-1). She has been an active participant in DNC councils and caucuses, including the Women’s, Rural, Small Business, and Environmental Caucuses, consistently working to strengthen Democratic efforts across Florida.
Known for her grassroots organizing in red and rural areas, Samantha has spearheaded initiatives such as the Panhandle Democratic Action Network (PDAN), a regional mobilization tool connecting Democrats to drive voter engagement and electoral success. She played a pivotal role in Women Against Matt Gaetz, a movement that demanded accountability and helped push for an ethics investigation into the congressman. With a focus on coalition-building, partisan registration, and creative strategies, Samantha’s work continues to help rebuild the Democratic Party in Florida and beyond.
